Geert graduated in 1983 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht, The Netherlands. After graduation he worked in several mixed practices, focusing on dairy animal health and production. Realizing the importance of nutrition he developed a strong interest in dairy and ruminant nutrition. Balancing rations and feeding to support production levels were cornerstones in rationing high input systems and TMR systems in Europe. Combining that knowledge with New Zealand pasture based production systems is interesting and challenging. Geert trained as an Intelact Consultant to be able to combine dairy nutrition and dairy animal health with whole farm productivity and profitability.
